You should not try to be funny at first, unless you are sure that your joke funny, unique and can never be sure that someone else thinks its stupid to send a joke. I would not send a message indicating that someone is beautiful or just say hello. I like it when someone sends me a message telling me why they post, as I have in common with me in a profile or a message that explains some of the same sender. An icebreaker writing is generally quite a way for each site and is easy to send a real message takes time and thought. When you send a message that is as interesting as possible each time, thus keeping the person's attention longer. It's easy to run out of things to talk online, especially when one or two people are not really share much. Try to talk about music, books, magazines, animals, news, etc. These are things that everyone has an opinion, but does not reveal any personal information by any party really. I can get more done that personally.
