I prefer men when it comes to sex and dating, but I find that I really enjoy visiting gay friendly cities and neighborhoods, such as Northampton, MA; Portland, ME, and the Greenwich village section of New York. Well, I live in Portland, Maine and I have to tell you, its not the bohemian wonderland that you seem to think it is. Sure, it has those things, but that’s only one part of the culture here. There is a lot of class separation here, and if you’re poor it can be a brutal, cold place to live. Also, you have to have a car to get anywhere around here which is also opposite of the hippie-ville image that you see on the surface.

Anyways, as a straight girl, I’ve hung out in 2 of the 3 gay bars that Portland has to offer. Its fun because there’s no pressure or other girls competing for guys’ attention.
