I’ve preferred to discuss Global warming since it is a major clinical issue in the press.
Problems facing the environment today are large and varied. Exploitation of the world’s rain forests, the destruction of global warming and the ozone layer, polluting of the environment, water pollution, chemical pollution are only some of dangerous levels will be reached by the challenges in the coming decades.
The three aspects of global warming I’ll examine are:
What’s global warming? What are the effects of worldwide warming? What’re we doing to reduce global warming?
Worldwide warming is a greenhouse effect on the Earth. Solar energy is transported to earth by the sun. Surplus power must reradiate back into space through the earth’s environment. But, due to increased carbon dioxide and methane in the world due to emissions from polluters such as vehicles and factories, excess energy is contained in the earth’s setting and causes a heating of the world called “Global Warming.”
Beginning in the mid-1700s, individual activities begun to modify the structure of the atmosphere. Later, and large supplies of charcoal coal and oil, fed the growing fires of the Industrial Revolution. The carbon stored in these fuels was published to the air as carbon dioxide – a gas that traps heat in the atmosphere. each year today, for every among the more than 5.8 million people on Earth, almost six tons of co2 is spewed into the air. As , the gas contained within the atmosphere has risen by more than 30 percent in the last 250 years a consequence of our activities. These greenhouse gases which prevent infrared light from escaping in to space, maintain the earth’s temperature comfortable. According to the British Meteorological Office the earth is getting hotter every year – In fact 1995 was the hottest year on record.
Charity say that the warmer planet isn’t such a bad thing: only look at it’s almost Christmas and the great weather we are experiencing today.
So how can global warming potentially hurt us?
In our life, and in on our children’s children’s life we shall not be effected. But if we continue the same speed as now the warmer conditions are expected to enhance the sea level by burning mountain glaciers, expanding ocean water, and melting parts of the Greenland Ice Sheet.
A Us panel of scientists has predicted that if greenhouse gas emissions are not reduced, the average global temperature might increase by1. to 3.5. C (1.8. to 6.3. F) by the year 2100. Just what exactly are we doing to hopefully end this warming of the world and decrease?
The White House and last July Vice President Al Gore hosted a conference on World wide Climate change. The CEO’s of large polluting companies where asked to take part in the talks to reduce emissions in to the earth’s atmosphere. The CEO of Sun Oil Company said that the entire oil industry was striving to reduce pollutants from their refineries. Automakers at the meeting said that they were engineering the cars of the future to have less and fewer emissions. As you and I can do anything to help too individuals. In this state alone we release about 40,000 pounds of Co2 per person each year. If we may decrease energy use enough to decrease greenhouse gas emissions by about 2% a year, in 10 years we will “lose” about 7000 pounds of co2 emissions per person.
